श्रीमते निगमान्त महादेशिकाय नम:
वाचां निधे वञ्चितभागधेयः ।
दैत्यापनीतान् दययैव भूयोऽपि
अध्यापयिष्यो निगमान् न चेत् त्वम् ।। 8
मन्द: अभविष्यत् नियतं विरिञ्च:
वाचां निधे वञ्चित भागधेयः ।
दैत्य अपनीतान् दयया एव भूय: अपि
अध्यापयिष्य: निगमान् न चेत् त्वम् ।। 8
त्वम् -நீ
दैत्य अपनीतान् - அசுரர்களால் கவரப்பட்ட
निगमान् - வேதங்களை
दयया एव - கருணையாலேயே
भूय: अपि - மறுபடியும் (பிரமனுக்கு)
न अध्यापयिष्य: चेत् - உபதேசித்திராவிட்டால்
विरिञ्च: - பிரமதேவன்
वञ्चित भागधेयः - பாக்யத்தை இழந்தவனாய்
नियतं - நிச்சயமாக
मन्द: - மூடனாக
अभविष्यत् – ஆகியிருப்பான்
O SriHayagriva Perumal, the abode of all arts! When the two demons Madhu and Kaiṭabha, through their great strength, stole the
Vedas from Brahma, he stood confused and helpless, not knowing what to do. Out
of compassion, You first taught the Vedas to Brahma, and then once again protected him by
restoring the Vedas to him. If You had not done this, what would have been
Brahma’s fate? Having lost the
Vedas, he would have stood confused, unable to carry out any act of creation or
other duties.
