அறியாமையிலும் காக்கும் திருவரங்கனின்
அளவற்ற கருணை
திருவரங்கனென்னும் பிரபுவே! நீ சேதநர்களை வாழ்விப்பதற்காகப் பகவத்கீதை-பாஞ்சராத்ரம் முதலிய நூல்களின் வாயிலாகப் பல உயரிய உபதேசங்களைச் செய்தருளியுள்ளாய். அவ்வுபதேசங்கள் சேதனனுக்கு ஸம்ஸார பந்தத்தை விரைவில் போக்கவல்ல மிக்க வீர்யமுடைய மருந்துகளாயுள்ளன. சேதநனோ உலக ஸுகங்களை நெடுநாளாய் அநுபவித்து வந்த பழக்கத்தால் மேன்மேலும் அவற்றிலேயே ஈடுபட்டு ஸம்ஸார பந்தத்தைப் போக்கிக்கொள்ள மனமற்றவனாயுள்ளான். அவனுக்கு உன் அரிய உபதேசங்கள் கைக்கின்றன(கசக்கின்றன). அவற்றைக் கண்டு அவன் அஞ்சுகின்றான்; இழிவான வழியில் நடப்பதிலேயே சுவைகொண்டு மகிழ்கின்றான். தன்னுடைய இச்செயல், செம்படவர் தூண்டிமுள்ளில் வைத்துள்ள உணவை மீன் உண்ண வருவது போன்றதாகுமென்பதை உணரவில்லை. தனக்குத் தீங்கு விளைவிக்கும் இச்செயலை விட்டொழிக்கவேண்டுமென்ற எண்ணம்கூட அவனுக்கு உண்டாவதில்லை. இத்தகைய சேதநன் கதி யாது? இவனையும் உன் கருணை அன்புடன் கூடி நின்று காத்துவிடுகின்றது. எப்படி? உன் அன்பு சேதனனிடம் உள்ள குற்றங்களைப் பொருட்படுத்தாது. உன் கருணை சேதநன் துன்பத்தைப் போக்க முற்படுகின்றது. பாபியான ஜீவனுக்கு ஏதாவது சிறிய புண்ணியம் ஏற்படும்போது உன் கருணை பிறரால் காரணம் அறிய முடியாதவாறு அவன்மீது பாய்கின்றது; பின் அவனை நாளடைவில் நல்வழிப்படுத்திப் பிரபத்தியைத் தலைக்கட்டிவைத்து மோக்ஷம் பெறும்வரை பெறும்வரை உதவி அவனைக் காத்துவிடுகின்றது. என்னே உன் கருணை !!!

Boundless Compassion that Saves Even the Ignorant
O Lord
Ranganatha! To uplift all beings, You have given great teachings through sacred
texts like the Bhagavad Gita and Pancharatra. These teachings are like powerful
medicines that can quickly remove the bondage of samsara. But the jiva, due to
long habit of enjoying worldly pleasures, becomes more attached to them and
loses the desire to free himself from samsara. Your teachings feel difficult
and unpleasant to him, and he even fears them. Instead, he enjoys following low
and harmful paths. He does not realize that his actions are like a fish going
after bait placed on a hook, which will only bring harm. He does not even think
of giving up such harmful ways. What will happen to such a person? Even him,
Your compassion protects with love. Your love does not look at his faults, and
Your compassion works to remove his suffering. When even a small good deed
arises in such a sinful soul, Your grace flows towards him in a way that others
cannot understand. Slowly, You guide him to the right path, help him perform
prapatti, and protect him until he attains moksha. Oh, how great is Your
compassion!
