அடியாரைக் காக்கும் திருவாயுதங்களின் அர்த்தம்
திருவரங்கநகரப்பனே! நீ எவ்வகைப் பயமும் அற்றவன்; உன்னிடம் உலகனைத்தும் அஞ்சுகின்றது. இவ்வாறு இருக்க, திருவாழி திருச்சங்கு முதலிய திருவாயுதங்களால் உனக்கு ஒரு பயனுமில்லையென்பது நிச்சயம். ஆயினும் அவ்வாயுதங்களைத் தானே சுமந்து நிற்கின்றாய். அதற்கு ஒரு காரணம் உளது- நீ கீதையில் உன்னைப்பற்றி நன்கு அறிந்து உன்னிடம் எல்லையற்ற அன்பு பூண்ட ஞானியை நிச்சயமாய் உனக்கு அந்தர்யாமியான ஆத்மாவெனக் கூறியுள்ளாய். இத்தகைய அடியார்களைக் காப்பது உன்னையே காத்துக்கொள்வதாகவன்றே ஆகின்றது. ஆகவே இத்தகைய தற்காப்புக்காகவே அவ்வாயுதங்களைச் சுமந்து நிற்கின்றாய்போலும்.
The Meaning of the
Divine Weapons that Protect Devotees
O Lord of
Srirangam! You are completely free from all fear, and the entire world stands
in awe of You. In such a state, it is clear that weapons like the Sudarshana
Chakra and Panchajanya Conch are of no use for Your own protection. Yet, You
still bear them. There is a reason for this. In the Gita, You have declared
that a true jnani who knows You well and has deep love for You is like Your
very own Self, with You as his Antaryami. Protecting such devotees is the same
as protecting Yourself. Therefore, it seems that You bear these divine weapons
only for the sake of protecting Your devotees.
