கணைக்கால் வர்ணநம்
திருவரங்கனது
திருவடியில் அணியப்பெற்ற தண்டைகள் பல்வகை இரத்தினங்களால் இழைக்கப் பெற்றன.
அவற்றின் ஒளி அரங்கனது கணைக்காலில் வீசுவதால் கணைக்காலும் பல நிறங்கொண்டதாய்க்
காட்சி தருகின்றது. பார்க்க அழகியதாய் வட்ட வடிவமாய் மேலே உள்ள உறுப்புக்கேற்ற
அமைப்பு உடையதாயுள்ளது இந்தக் கணைக்கால். முன்பு பாண்டவர்களுக்காகக்
கௌரவர்களிடம் தூது சென்றபொழுது இந்தக் கணைக்காலின் சக்தியால் தானே மிக
விரைவாய் ஓட முடிந்தது; மேலுள்ள அவயவங்களின் அழகு
வெள்ளமிட்டோடி வழிந்ததை இந்தக் கணைக்கால் ஒரு பாத்திரமாக இருந்து
ஏந்தியது போலும். மேலே உள்ள முழந்தாளின் அழகும் இதில் வந்து சேரும்போது
கணைக்காலின் இயற்கையழகு இரட்டித்துப் புலனாகின்றது. இத்துணைச் சிறப்புடைய
திருவரங்கனுடைய கணைக்காலை ஸேவித்த அடியேனது உயிர் இனி ஸம்ஸார மார்க்கத்தில்
ஓடியலையும் துன்பம் ஒழியப் பெறுகின்றது.

The Beauty of the Divine
Ankles
The holy feet of Lord Ranganatha
are adorned with anklets decorated with many kinds of precious gems. The
shining light from these gems falls upon His ankles, making them glow in many
beautiful colors. His ankles are round, well-shaped, and perfectly suited to
support the upper parts of His divine body.
Long ago, when the Lord went as a
messenger to the Kauravas for the sake of the Pandavas, it was by the strength
of these very ankles that He was able to move swiftly. It is as if these
ankles acted like a vessel, holding the flood of beauty that flowed down
from the upper parts of His divine form. When the beauty of His knees joins
with the natural charm of His ankles, their loveliness appears doubled.
By worshipping these glorious
ankles of Lord Ranganatha, my own life, which has been running restlessly along
the path of samsara, now finds relief from its wandering sorrow.
(There is a sweet idea here: by
serving His sacred ankles, the devotee’s own ankles are freed from the pain of
roaming in worldly suffering.)
