விஷ்வக்ஸேநரை
வழிபடுதல்
மிகப் பெரிய கடல் போன்ற ஒரு நீர்நிலையில்
நீர் நிரம்பி வழிந்து அது கால்வாயாகப் பெருகுவதைக் கண்டுள்ளோம். ஸ்ரீநிவாஸனது
கருணையே ஒரு பெருங்கடல். அதன் நீரோட்டங்கள் பல. அவற்றுள் தவறுக்குத் தண்டித்தல் -
நியமித்தல் முதலியனவும் அடங்கியன. அவ்வாறே உபதேசித்தலும் ஒரு நீரோட்டமாகும். அதுவே
விஷ்வக்ஸேநர் வடிவுகொண்டதாம். எம்பெருமான் தனக்கு உரிய ஸகல கார்யங்களையும்
விஷ்வக்ஸேநரிடத்தில் கொடுத்து அவர் வாயிலாகக் காரியங்களைச் செய்கின்றான்.
எம்பெருமான் சேனைக்கு அவர் தலைவராதலின் 'ஸேநாபதி', 'ஸேனை முதலியார்' என்றெல்லாம் வழங்கப்படுவர். தவறு செய்தவரைத்
தண்டிக்கும் தன்மையுடையவர் அவர். இவ்வாறு அவர் தண்டிப்பதும் பிழை செய்தவர்
திருந்துவதற்கு உடலாகின்றது. ஆகவே தண்டித்தலும் எம்பெருமானது கருணையின்
விளைவேயாகும். மேலும் அவரவர் செய்யும் நற்காரியங்களுக்கு வரும் இடையூறுகளை எல்லாம்
விஷ்வக்ஸேநர் நீக்குகின்றார். ஆகையாலேயே எல்லா நற்காரியங்களுக்கும் தொடக்கத்திலேயே
விஷ்வக்ஸேநருக்கு ஆராதநம் செய்கின்றனர். இவ்வாறு பெருமையுடைய விஷ்வக்ஸேநரை
வழிபடுகின்றேன். (5)
Salutations to Vishwaksena
– The Flow of the Lord’s Compassion
We have seen how a vast ocean overflows and its waters flow through many channels. In the same way, the compassion of Lord Srinivasa is like a great ocean, with many streams flowing from it. Among these are actions like correcting, guiding, and even punishing when needed. Teaching (upadesa) is also one such stream, and it has taken the form of Vishvaksena. The Lord entrusts all His divine tasks to Vishvaksena and carries them out through him. As the commander of the Lord’s army, he is known as Senapati and Sena Mudaliyar. He punishes those who do wrong, but even that punishment is meant to correct and uplift them. So, even punishment is truly an expression of the Lord’s compassion. Further, Vishvaksena removes all obstacles that arise in the good actions of devotees. That is why he is worshipped at the beginning of all auspicious activities. I bow to this Mahan and noble Vishvaksena. (5)
