05. श्री श्रीदयाशतकम्  Daya Shatakam ஸ்ரீ தயா சதகம்

56  - மாநிதி அளிக்கும் தயாதேவி - Supreme Daya which grants Supreme Treasure

जगति मितंपचा त्वदितरा तु दये तरळा 

फल नियमोज्झिता भवति संतपनाय पुनः । 

त्वमिह निरङ्कुश प्रशकनादि विभूतिमती 

वितरसि देहिनां निरवधिं वृषशैल निधिम् ॥ 56 ॥

पदच्छेदः

जगति मितंपचा त्वत् इतरा तु दये तरळा 

फल नियम उज्झिता भवति संतपनाय पुनः । 

त्वम् इह निरङ्कुश प्रशकन आदि विभूतिमती 

वितरसि देहिनां निरवधिं वृषशैल निधिम् ॥ 56 ॥

दये — (திருவேங்கடநாதனின்) தயாதேவியே!

जगति — உலகில்

त्वत् इतरा तु — உன்னையன்றி மற்ற தயையோவெனில்

मितंपचा — அற்ப பலனையே தரவல்லதாய்

तरळा — நிலையற்றதாய்

फल नियम उज्झिता — பலன் தருவதில் உறுதியற்றதாய்

पुनः  — மறுபடி

संतपनाय — துன்பத்திற்கு (க் காரணமாய்)

भवति — ஆகின்றது.

त्वम् — நீயோ

निरङ्कुश — தடையற்ற

प्रशकन आदि  — சக்தி முதலிய

विभूतिमती — ஐச்வர்யமுடையளாய்

इह — இவ்வுலகில்

देहिनां — பிராணிகளுக்கு

निरवधिं — எல்லையற்ற

वृषशैल निधिम्  — திருமலையிலுள்ள நிதியை

वितरसि — கொடுக்கின்றாய்.

மாநிதி அளிக்கும் தயாதேவி

தயாதேவியே! உலகில் உன்னைத் தவிர வேறு எத்தனையோ பேர்களுடைய தயைகள் உள்ளன. பிரமன் - இந்திரன் முதலிய தேவர்களுக்கும் கருணை உண்டு. அரசர் பெருஞ்செல்வர் முதலிய பலருக்கும் தயை உண்டு. ஆனால் அவர்களின் தயைகளெல்லாம் அற்ப பலன்களையே அளிப்பன. நிலையாயிருப்பனவுமல்ல. ஒருகால் உதிக்கும்; மற்றொருகால் விலகிப் போகும். மக்கள் அந்தக் கருணையை நம்பியிருக்க முடியாது. அந்த அற்பப் பலனையும் கொடுத்தாலும் கொடுக்கும். கொடாமலும் இருக்கும். மக்கள் சிறு குற்றம் புரிந்தாலும் அக்கருணையே கோபமாக மாறிப் பல கஷ்டங்களை அவர்களுக்கு விளைவிக்கும். ஸ்ரீநிவாஸனுடைய கருணையாகிய உனது பெருமையோ அத்யற்புதமானது. உனது சக்தி - ஸங்கல்பம் முதலியவற்றை ஒருவரும் தடைசெய்யமுடியாது. நீ சலியாது மிக உறுதியாய் நிற்பவள். நீ அடியார்களுக்குப் பலன் கொடுத்தே நிற்பாய். நீ பலன் தருவதைப்பற்றி சேதர்களுக்குச் சந்தேகம் வருவதற்கே இடமில்லை. நீ எத்தகைய பலனைத் தருகின்றாய்? திருமலையில் விளங்கும் ஸ்ரீநிவாஸன் என்னும் எல்லையற்ற பெரிய நிதியையன்றோ அடியார்களுக்குக் கொடுத்துவிடுகின்றாய். உன்னால் அந்தப் பெருநிதியன்றோ அடியார்களுக்கு வசமாகின்றது. இப்படி எண்ணற்ற பெருமையுடைய உன் முன்னால் நிற்பதற்கும் மற்றவர்களின் தயை தகுதியுடையதாமோ? (56) 

Supreme Daya which grants Supreme Treasure

Daya Devi! In this world, there are many kinds of compassion besides yours. Brahma, Indra, and other Devas possess compassion. Kings, wealthy people, and many others also show kindness. But all those forms of compassion grant only small and temporary benefits. They are not steady or permanent. At one time they may appear, and at another they may disappear. People cannot fully depend upon such mercy.

Even the little help they give may or may not come. If people commit even a small mistake, that same compassion may quickly turn into anger and bring suffering upon them.

But your compassion, the compassion of Srinivasan, is wondrous beyond measure. No one can obstruct your power or your divine resolve. You stand firm without wavering. You never fail to bless your devotees. There is not even the slightest room for doubt about whether you will grant your grace.

And what is the fruit you grant? You do not merely give small worldly benefits. You grant devotees the infinite treasure called Srinivasan Himself, who shines upon Tirumala. Through you, that supreme treasure becomes easily attainable to devotees.

    When your compassion possesses such immeasurable greatness, can the compassion of anyone else even stand before it? (56)
