श्रीमते निगमान्त महादेशिकाय नम:
திருவேங்கடமுடையானுடைய தயாதேவியே! நீ தேவ கங்கை போன்றவளே என்பதற்குப் பின்னும் சில சான்றுகள் தெரிகின்றன. தேவகங்கையை வேதங்கள் போற்றுகின்றன. பல மரங்களைச் சார்ந்து வெள்ளம் பெருகும். அது தன் வெள்ளத்தாலே நாடு முழுதும் செழிக்கச் செய்கின்றது. அதன் வெள்ளம் இரு கரைகளையும் உடைத்துக்கொண்டு செல்லுகின்றது. அதில் நீராடுவார்க்குத் தாபத்தைப் போக்கி நன்மை புரிகின்றது; தனது நீரில் அன்னம் - மீன் - ஆமை முதலிய ஐந்துக்களைத் தோற்றுவிக்கின்றது. நூற்றுக்கணக்கான துறைகளையுடையது. தயாதேவியே! உன்னையும் வேதங்கள் மிகப் போற்றுகின்றன. இம்மைப் பயன்களை வேண்டுவார்க்கு அவற்றைக் கொடுத்து எல்லாவுலகமும் க்ஷேமமடையச் செய்கின்றாய். உன்னைச் சரணமடைந்தவர்களின் புண்ணியம் - பாபம் என்னும் இருவினைகளையும் ஒழித்துவிடுகின்றாய். ஸம்ஸார பந்தத்தில் தவிப்பவர்க்கு அந்தத் தாபத்தைப் போக்கி மோக்ஷம் பெறச் செய்கின்றாய். உன்னாலேயே எம்பெருமான் ஹம்ஸம்-மத்ஸ்யம்- கூர்மம் முதலிய பல்வேறு அவதாரங்களைச் செய்கின்றான். அவற்றால் உலகம் நல்வாழ்வு பெறுகின்றது. இத்துணைப் பெருமைபெற்ற நீ இவ்வாறு தேவகங்கையை நிகர்க்கின்றாய். (55)
The Greatness of Daya
Compared to the Sacred Ganga
Daya Devi
of Tiruvengadamudaiyan! There are even more reasons why you are comparable to
the sacred river Ganga.
The Vedas
praise the holy Ganga. Its waters flow past many trees and nourish the entire
land with abundance. Its floodwaters overflow and break through both
riverbanks. Whoever bathes in it is relieved of suffering and purified. It also
gives rise to creatures such as swans, fish, and turtles within its waters. It
contains hundreds of sacred bathing places (ghats and tirthas).
In the same
way, the Vedas highly praise you also. You grant worldly benefits to those who
desire them and thereby bring welfare to all the worlds. For those who
surrender to you, you destroy both kinds of karma — punya and papa. For Jeevans suffering in the bondage of Samsara, you remove their burning sorrow and lead
them toward Moksha.
Because of
you, Emperuman takes many divine incarnations such as Hamsa, Matsya, and Kurma.
Through these avataras, the world receives protection and upliftment.
Thus, possessing such greatness, you truly equal the sacred Ganga. (55)
