श्रीमते निगमान्त महादेशिकाय नम:
अशिथिल धर्म सेतु पदवीं रुचिरामचिरात् ।
अमित महोर्मि जालमतिलङ्घ्य भवाम्बु निधिं
भवति वृषाचलेश पद पत्तन नित्य धनी ॥ 51 ॥
अतिकृपण: अपि जन्तु: अधिगम्य दये भवतीम्
अशिथिल धर्म सेतु पदवीं रुचिराम् अचिरात् ।
अमित महा ऊर्मि जालम् अतिलङ्घ्य भव अम्बुनिधिं
भवति वृषाचल ईश पद पत्तन नित्य धनी ॥ 51 ॥
अतिकृपण: — கைம்முதல் யாதுமில்லாத
जन्तु: अपि — சேதநனும்
रुचिराम् — அழகியதாய்
अशिथिल — அழியாத (உடையாத)
धर्म — தர்மஸ்வரூபனான எம்பெருமானை அடைவிக்கின்ற (தர்மத்துக்காகக் கட்டிய)
सेतु पदवीं — அணையாயுள்ள
भवतीम् — உன்னை
अधिगम्य — (சரணமாக) அடைந்து
अमित — அளவற்ற
महा ऊर्मि जालम् — பேரலைகளையுடைய
भव अम्बुनिधिं — ஸம்ஸார மென்னும் கடலை

वृषाचल ईश — திருவேங்கடநாதனுடைய
पद पत्तन — திருவடியாகிய கரத்தில்
नित्य धनी — அழியாச்செல்வம் பெற்றவனாக
भवति — ஆகின்றான்.
ஸம்ஸாரக்
கடலைக் கடக்கச் செய்யும் அணை தயை
உலகில் ஏழையான ஒருவன் பெருஞ்செல்வத்தை ஈட்ட விரும்புகின்றான். அவன் கடலைக் கடந்து அப்பாலுள்ள நகரம் சேர்ந்து செல்வத்தைப் பெறவேண்டும். பேரலைகள் நிறைந்து அச்சத்தை விளைவிக்கும் பெருங்கடலை எவ்வாறு கடப்பது? ஓர் அரசன் புண்யத்தைப் பெறக் கருதியே கடலில் ஓர் உறுதியான அணை அமைத்துள்ளான். அவ்வேழை இவ்வணை வழியே கடலைக் கடந்து அந்த நகரம் சேர்ந்து பெருஞ்செல்வம் ஈட்டி அங்கேயே இன்புற்று வாழ்கின்றான். தயாதேவியே! சேதனனிடம் கைம்மூதல் இல்லை. அதாவது கர்மயோகத்தையோ ஜ்ஞானயோகத்தையோ பக்தியோகத்தையோ எதையும் செய்ய அறிவும் சக்தியும் இல்லை. அவனுக்குத் தர்மஸ்வரூபனை எம்பெருமானுடைய திருவடியைப் பெற - மோக்ஷம்பெற - மிக்க விருப்பம் உள்ளது. ஸம்ஸாரமோ ஒரு பெருங்கடல். காமம் கோபம் முதலிய அளவற்ற துர்க்குணங்கள் இக்கடலின் பேரலைகாகும். இந்தச் சூழ்நிலையில் அவன் யாது செய்வான்? உன்னைச் சரணமடைகின்றான். நீ மனத்துக்கு இனிய - பழுதற்ற ஓர் அணையாகி விரைவில் அவன் பிறவிப் பெருங்கடலைக் கடக்குமாறு செய்கின்றாய். அவன் திருவேங்கடநாதனென்னும் பரமனுடைய திருவடிகளை அடைகின்றான். அத் திருவடிகளே அவன் வாழும் பெருநகரமாகின்றன. அங்கு நித்யகைங்கர்யம் செய்தலாகிய அழியாச் செல்வத்தைப் பெற்று வாழ்கின்றான். இவ்வாறு உன்னைச் சரணடைந்தவர்களை உய்விக்கின்றாய். (51)
The Bridge of Compassion
Across the Ocean of Samsara
In this
world, a poor man may desire to gain great wealth. To obtain it, he must cross
the ocean and reach a rich city on the other shore. But the sea is vast, filled
with frightening waves. How can he safely cross it? A righteous king, wishing
to earn punya, builds a strong bridge across the ocean. Using that bridge, the
poor man crosses safely, reaches the city, gains immense wealth, and lives
there happily forever.
In the same
way, Daya Devi, the Jeevathma has no spiritual strength or resources of his
own. He does not possess the knowledge or ability to perform Karma Yoga, Jnana
Yoga, or Bhakti Yoga properly. Yet he deeply desires to attain the sacred feet
of Emperuman, who is the very embodiment of Dharma, and thereby attain Moksha.
But Samsara is like a vast and dangerous ocean. Lust, anger, and countless
other bad qualities rise like huge waves in that ocean. In such a helpless
condition, what can the Jeevathma do?
He surrenders to you. You become a beautiful and flawless bridge that quickly helps him cross the ocean of births and deaths. Through your grace, he reaches the sacred feet of Tiruvengadanathan, the Supreme Lord. Those divine feet become the great city where he lives forever. There, he gains the eternal wealth of Nithya Kainkaryam — everlasting service to Bhagavan — and experiences endless joy. Thus, through your compassion, you uplift and save all those who surrender to you. (51)
