67- அமுத நதியாய் பெருகும் தயை – எம்பெருமானின் குணங்களுக்கு உயிரூட்டும் கருணை - Daya: The River of Nectar that Enlivens All Divine Qualities
दये दुग्धोदन्वद्व्यति युत सुधा सिन्धु नयतः
त्वदाश्लेषान्नित्यं जनित मृत सञ्जीवन दशाः ।
स्वदन्ते दान्तेभ्यः श्रुति वदन कर्पूर गुळिकाः
विषुण्वन्तश्चित्तं वृषशिखरि विश्वं भर गुणाः ॥ 67 ॥
पदच्छेदः
दये दुग्ध उदन्वत् व्यतियुत सुधा सिन्धु नयतः
त्वत् आश्लेषात् नित्यं जनित मृत सञ्जीवन दशाः ।
स्वदन्ते दान्तेभ्यः श्रुति वदन कर्पूर गुळिकाः
विषुण्वन्त: चित्तं वृषशिखरि विश्वंभर गुणाः ॥ 67 ॥
दये - தயாதேவியே!
दुग्ध उदन्वत् - திருப்பாற்கடலுடன்
व्यतियुत - நன்றாய்க் கலந்த
सुधा सिन्धु - அமுத நதியின்
नयतः - முறையில்
त्वत् आश्लेषात् – உன் கூடுதலால்
जनित मृत सञ्जीवन दशाः - இறந்தவரைப் பிழைப்பூட்டும் நிலையுண்டாகப் பெற்றனவாய்
श्रुति वदन – வேதங்களின் வாய்க்கு
कर्पूर गुळिकाः - பச்சைக் கருப்பூரக் குளிகைகளாய்
चित्तं - உள்ளத்தை
विषुण्वन्त - பிழிவனவாயுள்ள
वृषशिखरि – திருமலையில் விளங்குகின்ற
विश्वंभर - ஜகத் ரக்ஷகனுடைய
गुणाः - திவ்ய குணங்கள்
दान्तेभ्यः - இந்திரியங்களை வென்றவர்க்கு
नित्यं - எப்பொழுதும்
स्वदन्ते - சுவைக்கின்றன.
அமுத நதியாய் பெருகும் தயை – எம்பெருமானின் குணங்களுக்கு உயிரூட்டும் கருணை
தயாதேவியே! திருப்பாற்கடல் மிக இனிமையானது. அமுதமாகவே ஓர் ஆறு இருப்பின் அது பாற்கடலினும் மிக இனியதாயிருக்கும். அமுதத்துக்கு இறப்பவரைப் பிழைப்பூட்டும் வல்லமையுண்டு. திருப்பாற்கடலோடு அமுதவாறு சேர்ந்தால் அதன் சிறப்பைக் கூறவேண்டுமோ! திருவேங்கடநாதன் திருமலையின் உச்சியில் நின்றே உலக முழுவதும் காக்கின்றான். அவனுடைய மற்றைக் குணங்கள் அநுபவிக்கப் போக்யமாயிருப்பன. அவற்றைக் காட்டிலும் போக்யமாயிருப்பவள் நீ. அந்தக் குணங்களுடன் நீ கூடுவது பாற்கடலுடன் அமுதவாறு கூடுவது போலாகின்றது. நீ கூடுவதால் அக்குணங்களுக்கும் பெருமை அதிகமாகின்றது. தத்துவ உணர்ச்சியே இல்லாது இறந்தவர் போலுள்ள சேதநர்களை நீ உஜ்ஜீவிக்கச் செய்கின்றாய். ஸ்ரீநிவாஸனுடைய தயையாகிய உன்னால் தானே சேதநர் நல்லறிவு பெற்று கடைசியில் நற்கதி பெறுகின்றனர். உன் ஸம்பந்தத்தால் அவனுடைய மற்றைக் குணங்களும் சேதநர்களை நற்கதி சேர்க்கும் சக்தி பெறுகின்றன. இது மட்டுமோ? பச்சைக் கருப்பூரக் குளிகைகளை வாயிற்போட்டுக்கொண்டால் மணமும் சுவையும் ஏற்படுமல்லவோ? வேதத்தின் வாய்க்கு மற்றைக் குணங்கள் பச்சைக் கருப்பூரக்குளிகைகள் போலுள்ளன. அதாவது - வேதங்களின் வாயாகிய உபநிடதம் அக்குணங்களைப் புகழ்ந்து இன்புறுகின்றது. இச்சிறப்பும் அக்குணங்களுக்கு நீ கலந்து நிற்பதாலேயே வருகின்றது. மேலும் குணங்கள் தங்களை அனுபவிப்பவர்களின் உள்ளத்தைப் பிழிந்தெடுத்து நினைந்து உருகச் செய்கின்றன. இந்திரியங்களை வெளியுலகில் பட்டி மேய விடாமல் அடக்கிய பெரியோர்கள் அக்குணங்களையே எப்பொழுதும் அநுபவித்து இன்பமடைகின்றனர். நீ கலந்ததால் தானே அவற்றுக்கு இந்தச் சிறப்புக்கள். நீ இல்லாவிடில் எம்பெருமானுடைய மற்றைக் குணங்களால் சேதநர்க்கு வரும் பயன் யாது? உன் பெருமையே அனைத்துக்கும் காரணமாகும். (67)
Daya: The River of Nectar that Enlivens All Divine Qualities
O Daya Devi of Sri Venkatanatha!
The Milk Ocean is exceedingly sweet. If there were a river flowing with nectar itself, it would be even sweeter than the Milk Ocean. Nectar has the power to restore life to one who is as good as dead. If such a river of nectar were to merge with the Milk Ocean, how great would its glory be!
Sri Srinivasa stands atop Tiruvengadam and protects the entire universe. His many divine qualities are delightful to experience and contemplate. Yet, among them, You are the most delightful. When You unite with His other qualities, it is like a river of nectar joining the Ocean of Milk. Through Your presence, those qualities become even more glorious and effective.
Jeevathmas, who are spiritually lifeless due to the absence of true Tattva-jnanam, are revived by You. It is through Your compassion that they gain right understanding and ultimately attain the supreme goal. Because of Your association, the Lord’s other divine qualities also gain the power to lead Jeevans toward Moksham.
There is more. When one places green camphor pellets in the mouth, they produce both fragrance and sweetness. In a similar way, the Lord’s other qualities are like fragrant camphor pellets to the mouth of the Vedas. The Upanishads—the very mouth of the Vedas—joyfully praise and celebrate those qualities. This greatness too arises because You are present within them.
Furthermore, these divine qualities melt the hearts of those who experience them. Great Jeevans, who have withdrawn their senses from worldly distractions and brought them under control, constantly relish these qualities and rejoice in them. The reason these qualities possess such sweetness, and transformative power is Your presence within them.
Without You, what benefit could the Lord’s other qualities bring to Jeevathmas? It is Your greatness that gives purpose, power, sweetness, and saving efficacy to all of them.
Thus, O Daya Devi, you are the life, beauty, and effectiveness of all the divine qualities of Sri Srinivasa. (67)
